OUR ESTATE
We are natives of San Gimignano and have always lived in this cradle of art and nature.
Our love of the fruits of the earth has been handed down over the generations in our family, and it was our grandfather Luano who expanded the family farm, planting vineyards and olive groves. Our dream is to continue living and working in this beautiful place, offering you the products of our land and our refined hospitality, available in a number of forms in our agriturismo, for a holiday immersed in our concept of “good living”.OUR ESTATE

The vineyards
Palagetto has properties in various parts of the San Gimignano area, planted primarily with grapevines and olive trees.
Approximately 42 of the estate’s 62 hectares are planted with vineyards, including Sangiovese, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, Merlot, Cabernet, Syrah, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay, while 13 hectares are planted with olive groves, numbering more than 3000 trees, producing our Palagetto extra virgin olive oil and our two monovarietal selections, Frantoio and Correggiolo.

Growing methods
In 2018 Palagetto completed the transition to organic agriculture, begun in 2015.
The transition in favour of more sustainable agriculture and respect for plants’ natural cycles is a change required primarily by the latest generation, Sabrina Niccolai’s children, who started taking part in the decision-making process in 2015.
Organic farming means greater respect for natural cycles, without use of synthetic fertilisers, pesticides and other chemicals which have a major impact on the environment.

Alternative methods may be used to keep the parasites of grape vines and olive trees under control, using other insects or microorganisms that protect the plants’ health and reduce the impact of parasites naturally.
“All this work increases our focus on the raw material. We oversee the development and ripening of the fruit on the plant ourselves, choosing the date of the harvest with great care and attention to bring a top-quality product fully reflecting the identity of our territory to your table.”
